Old Mission general store rest stop.  Bill was driving my Saturn Vue as a SAG vehicle during this ride.  Today, about 1/2 mile from the General Store, the car decides to lock the steering wheel and not allow the ignition key to turn.  After a few minutes of panic and wrestling with the steering wheel, it decides to cooperate.  I don't think that Bill turned off the ignition until he returned to Traverse City!

On the TART again just east of Traverse City.  We got back to the church by 2:30 or so.  50 mile round trip to Elk Rapids today. My traveling companions on the way back were Brenda from Howell, MI and Mike from Marshall, MI.

Day 1 Done

We arrived back at the church around 1 pm. Decided to do 50 miles so went up the west side of Lake Leelanau and back south on the east side.  The photo above is Pastor Chris Lane of TC, Rob Mittelstaedt and Pastor Dan of Grand Haven. Beautiful day and beautiful ride!

Ride for Haiti 2012 begins next week!

Tuesday, June 12 is when we leave for Traverse City for the annual Ride for Haiti.  I plan to take photos and post them with comments on this blog,  Some posts will be real time from my cell phone and some will be later the same day from the laptop.  Stay tuned!
